Who are the seminars suitable for? They are tailored for all teachers in the primary school sector and are specifically designed to support teacher professional understanding and practical implementation of these crucial topics.
How long is a seminar? Seminars are 1 hour in duration with ‘Assessment for Learning’ being 75 minutes.
How are these seminars delivered? Each seminar is delivered to the whole staff in a classroom setting through the interactive whiteboard using the seminar DVD. There is a seminar handout for each teacher containing tasks, notes and resources that will be used during and after the seminar. There is also full online access to the seminar itself and to the support materials. A discussion forum is hosted on each topic, to assist teachers as they work towards implementation of each topic, post seminar.
How closely does the DVD seminar replicate having an actual tutor? Not only does it replicate but many say it surpasses the traditional tutor model! All teachers gather together in the convenience of a school classroom. The professional presenter is life size on the interactive whiteboard, delivering information, posing questions & setting tasks. There are also written tasks that participants are called on to complete in the seminar handout, while the seminar automatically pauses for 3 to 5 minutes to allow completion of same. In addition, the DVD can be paused at any moment if there is a burning point that needs a bit of further discussion!
What age group of pupils are the seminars geared to? The principles of the seminars are generic but the examples used are from primary school (4-12 years old).

Is it just a DVD? No, there is a resource pack to go with the seminar. This includes a guide for the seminar leader, a handout for participants, tasks for participants and templates to support implementation after completion of the seminar. In addition there is further online support through provision of all materials to download, a dicussion forum and participant support. The most important point to note is that the content is relevant, engaging and interactive.
